Gilardino was denied a goal for off-side when he was trying to lob the Matsuzaki SC keeper Date. Several minutes later, he was involved with the winning goal with an assist for Zacharias Sykes to score. Gilardino could have scored just before half time with a diving header going wide.
"I couldn't have asked for more from that boy, he just settles in the team easily having just joined us yesterday." said the 23-year old boss.
"He has shown other strikers how a no.9 player should play and I hope he will score his first goal in the next match."
Mill United will play their next game against man at united at home on 10th April.
